Blogging is something I do because I love doing it.
It started off as a way to record my family’s journey through life with some money saving ideas thrown in and it turned into something much, much more.
Now, as I look back over the pages of my blog and see my children growing from small cute little people into gorgeous young people who I’m proud of every day, I can see all of the things we’ve done together as a family – some things that we would never have had the opportunity to do if I hadn’t started this blog.
I can also look back at the posts where I hope that I’ve helped people to save a little bit of money here and there. I’m not into extreme money saving (although I envy those who can be that disciplined) and I much prefer what I call ‘common sense money saving’ – the sensible things you probably know you should be doing but never actually do them for some reason (like switching appliances off instead of leaving them on Standby) and ‘pain free money saving’ where there’s an opportunity to save money on something without having to give anything up (like getting a better deal for your gas and electricity).
Being frugal or thrifty to me is all about making the best out of what you have and I’m very proud that I’ve been voted as a finalist in the MADs Best Thrifty blog category because it means that at least a few of you agree with me and think I’m doing a good job
I hate asking for votes so when the MADs nominations opened, I didn’t blog about it and I didn’t ask anyone to vote for me anywhere so it was a bit of a shock to see that I was a finalist. But now that I am a finalist, I’m going to proudly display my badge and enjoy the ride!
Thank you.
The voting has now re-opened so you can vote for your favourite blogs to win here.
