I HATE NOISY TOYS!
It can’t be just me who hates noisy toys…. No matter how cute or funny the toy may be, they usually start to get on my nerves about 30 seconds after they’re turned on. Which is why the following activity was such a huge sacrifice on my part!
With Miss Frugal despatched to Grandads for tea, me and Master Frugal decided to put empty yoghurt pots to good use and make a shakey thing….
I didn’t take any pictures as we were making it as Master Frugal and paint and scissors and glue don’t mix well 😉
All we did was sellotape two muller light yoghurt pots togetherwith a few pieces of dried pasta inside them. Then we covered them with ripped up tissue paper using PVA glue. We let the glue dry (almost as we were too impatient to wait too long) and then we painted the top half of the shaker (and half of the dining room table!)
We were going to paint the other half of the shaker when this bit was dry as I didn’t want him holding the shaker in his hand and making even more mess but he’s quite happy with it like it is so I think we’ll accidentally on purpose forget to paint the rest.
I’ve told him he can play with it in the garden or when I’m at work lol.
aha but I bet you didn't get as messy as me lol
Try making it with a drinks bottle so you can cut out the sticking together
but 😉
Mum at the Madhouse just suggested that 😉
I never got your e mail but stacks of my e mails are going straight to my
spam folder at the minute…. Do you want to send it again and I'll look out
for it. x
Now why didn't I think of a bottle – would have been loads easier x

When my eldest was a baby we put rice, pennies, cheerios etc into little containers to let him test out the different sounds. He loved them more than any bought toy!! I didn't get as artistic as you though lol. Jen.
It must have been the day for it, we did one with a drinks bottle
I am another for hating noisy toys (unless I'm in the mood anyway) but that looks great and I think I'll follow your lead and make one with Little Man.
BTW – Did you get my email the other day?
