Miss Frugal is now officially learning to cook (so she tells me) in a weekly ‘Fun with Food’ class that she’s taking at school. Apparently she had the chance to grow stuff, sew stuff, cut stuff or cook stuff so she chose to cook stuff cos she is already good at that (her words not mine ;-)) For the last few weeks she has been coming home with some rather bizarre recipes and this week was no exception!
This weeks concoction recipe was cartwheel sandwiches. You’ll have to bear with me on this one as we’ve made it from the memory of a seven year old 😉
Mix a tin of tuna with some Philadelphea soft cheese. Put to one side (trying to ignore the fact that it smells a but iffy!)
Next, cut the crusts off your bread.
Using a rolling pin, flatten the bread.
Roll up each slice into a swiss roll type thing and cut each one in half.
Garnish with parsley and serve to an unsuspecting daddy 😉
It was actually a lot nicer than it sounds and it’s a fun way to get kids to eat their sandwiches. We’ve also trie a ham and cheese spread version and a tuna mayo version for Miss Frugal’s packed lunch and a chocolate spread and banana one for supper last night.
Now it’s your turn 😉
