This year I’ve sat down with the kids and we’ve made a ’25 things to do together before the end of the year’ list 😉
I thought it would be a good way to focus on a few of the things that we want to do together because really, if we keep putting them off then all too soon they’re going to be too grown up to want to do them together. At 11 and (almost) 9, I’m guessing we don’t have too long left before they’d rather be playing with their friends than spending time with us!
Some things we’ve done before and some things the kids have done but would like to do with us as a family this time. Â Most things on the list aren’t very exciting and lots might seem quite insignificant to some of you but they’re things that we want to do this year together so they’re on there….
Go to the park once a week and play hide and seek or take our scooter and bikes.
Have a family sleepover in the living room or in a tent in the back garden.
Go somewhere on a road trip.
Go to a football match.
Go to a farm.
Do something scary.
Go swimming at least once a month.
Climb trees.
Play a new sport.
Learn to play an instrument.
Milk a cow!?!?! (Any ideas welcome)
Grow something.
Have a pillow fight.
Go for a run together.
Go to the funfair.
Keep having our TV free family night once a week.
Have at least one pyjama day a month.
Have one night a month where the kids take over the kitchen and cook tea.
Visit as many museums as we can.
Go see a show.
Have a midnight feast.
Climb to the top of a lighthouse.
Paddle in the sea and build a sandcastle.
Go out in the rain.
Go for a walk in the dark.
And don’t forget, these aren’t things for just the kids to do. Â They’re for us as a family to do together and I’ll be there too joining in but also making sure that I take lots of photos of us all so we never forget how much fun 2014 was.
We’ll be ticking them off and I’ll let you know how we get along.
What would be your family’s must do thing for this year?
