Today is the 10th anniversary of the day I lost the best person I’ve ever known and although I wasn’t sure what to do to mark the occasion, I do know that I need to do something so I’m starting with this….
Dear Mum,
You were the person who taught me to be who I am today and I miss you.
I miss you every day and I still get angry sometimes that you were taken away from me before I was ready.
I wasn’t ready to be a Mum on my own without you there to help me through the hard times and share the many happy times with me.
You should have been here to see the beautiful people that your grandchildren have turned into – they’re both kind and caring and generous and everything you would have wanted them to be.
You should have been here to share the nativity plays and the Christmas carol concerts with us all and to join in with the fun we have as a family.
But don’t think that just because I’m getting on with my life and smiling that I’m not thinking of you every single day.
You are and always will be a part of me and a part of my family.

Dear Miss Frugal,
I know you miss your Nana and you treasure the things you have of hers and I want you to know that she would be unbelievably proud of the young woman you’ve become.
You were 3 when she died but you have some very vivid memories of her and every now and again you’ll tell me that you miss her. I miss her too and in a weird way it makes me happy that you miss her because it’s a sign of how much she loved you and how close you were in the short time you had together.
Thank you for being you, I couldn’t be prouder and I know that Nana would have felt the same.
Love Me
Dear Master Frugal,
You don’t remember Nana at all do you?
You like to think that you do and I won’t argue but you were only six months old when she died so you didn’t get to spend the time with her that we did.
She loved you very much though and I know that she would think you are every bit as awesome as you are if she was still here.
I love you little fella.
Dear Mum,
I forgot to tell you that I love you.
Three little words that I used to say to you without even thinking when I hung up the phone every night.
Three little words that I wish more than anything I could say to you again.
Love Me x
