Christmas makes me want to get in the kitchen and get creative more than any other time of the year and it seems to have the same effect on lots of you judging by some of the amazing treats that I see being shared on Instagram and in my Facebook feed!
A couple of weeks ago, we were planning a baking session to make some treats for the Christmas fayre so I asked my friends on Facebook for some Christmas treat inspiration and I’ll be honest, I was slightly overwhelmed with the response!

And, seeing as I’m sharing Christmas treats, I thought you might like to see the Christmas tree waffles I made for the kids’ breakfast this morning….
I used my recipe for Christmas waffles but added some green food colouring (I used the Dr Oetker extra colour colouring as I wasn’t impressed with the green I used for Miss Frugal’s Birthday cake – it looked almost identical to the yellow if you remember). I just cooked them as normal and then added some star sprinkles and some smarties as baubles. I finished them off by making little tree trunks for each one with a chocolate finger and the kids thought they were hilarious!
