Today didn’t go exactly as expected as poor Master Frugal is feeling a bit iffy today so he’s spent the day snuggled on the settee feeling sorry for himself. We had planned to do some actities and crafts around one of the kids favourite dinosaur books after the fun we had last time with Aliens Wear Underpants but he really wasn’t in the mood for anything like that. While he had a sleep this afternoon Miss Frugal and I read one of her favourite girly stories – Snowflakes and Sparkledust which is one of the Felicity Wishes books by Emma Thompson.
It’s all about a group of fairy friends who are trying to turn Winter into Spring and it’s a beautifully illustrated book that we both enjoy reading together. It’s just the right length for us as well, it only takes about five minutes to read which is just long enough for her and not too long for me.
After we read the book, she drew a springtime picture for me:
If you look closely there’s a birds nest in the tree – so cute 😉 The rather strange blue thing is a waterfall and the odd shape next to it is a person having a picnic!
Then I asked her to write me a springtime poem, which I wont bore you by typing out but I’m actually quite impressed by it….
When I wanted a bit of a relax, we found a website with loads of online Spring games here and she sat on the settee next to me and played happily for an hour or so.
I’m hoping that Master Frugal’s better tomorrow – it’s looking hopeful as he’s just been downstairs to ask for an ice lolly!!!
