Remember my last garden update back in October? My fence had just blown down in a storm and we were waiting for someone to come and build us a new, improved fence.Well, we now have our new improved fence and even though January isn't exactly the best time to do much in the garden, there are a few little jobs that we're getting in with this month.First things first, we have a new addition to the garden although it's debatable whether he's going to be a permanent fixture...Even though it's a container-grown tree and 'should' be able to continue growing happily in a container … [Read more...]
Why I start preparing for Christmas in January….
OK, get your eye rolling out of the way before we start because, yes, today I'm going to tell you why I start preparing for Christmas in January.I totally get that it may seem silly that I start preparing for Christmas in January, but if you think about all of the discounted gift sets, deals and clearance items that practically every store has on their shelf and online, it’s a wonder why more people don't start preparing for Christmas in January.I've found that doing this every year has helped saved me a significant amount of money, so I wanted to share what I do with you all to … [Read more...]
Instant Pot Shredded Chicken….
Shredded Chicken has always been one of my meal planning staples and today, I'm going to share with you my recipe for Instant Pot Shredded Chicken which is the first of my Instant Pot recipes that I'm going to be sharing over the next few months.I bought my Instant Pot in the Black Friday sale on Amazon after lusting after one for a good year or so. I'm trying to work my way … [Read more...]

Meal Planning Ok, I know I say meal planning is mentioned in my resolutions every single year but this year it's a … [Read more...]
Amazing Homemade DIY Shower Spray….
My homemade DIY shower spray is one of my favourite homemade cleaning recipes and considering how often our shower is used, it's one of my most used cleaning products. We have one shower in our house and it's the shower in my en-suite bathroom and whilst I would prefer that the kids (and even the husband) refrained from using my little bathroom, I've had to accept that isn't going to happen anytime soon - unless we have a bathroom redesign in the main bathroom to include a shower but that's not looking likely. ;-)But I do have rules if the kids want to use the shower in my bathroom … [Read more...]
Back to Basics with Budgeting Envelopes….
Today we're going back to budgeting basics with Budgeting Envelopes....It's one thing to sit yourself down, work out your monthly budget and decided how much you should be spending on what but actually sticking to it is a whole different ball game.Paying by card is so much more convenient these days, as is paying using your phone or even a wristband you can simply hold over a machine but they can make it that bit harder to keep track of what you're actually spending can't they?I wanted to share my budgeting envelopes system with you today because it makes it much easier to keep … [Read more...]
