Remember I said that Miss Frugal was saving for New York and wanted to earn some extra money by sharing some DIYs on here? Well, this is one of those posts and I'm actually really pleased with the way it turned out, especially as I discovered my new favourite drink thanks to my role of 'chief Oreo frappuccinos tester'!I'll hand you over to Miss Frugal now, seeing as she's charging me for the pleasure.... ;-)Hi,Today I made Oreo Frappuccinos for the first time and they worked out really well so my Mam said I could share them with you. I hope you like them as much as we … [Read more...]
65 Free or Frugal Valentines Gift ideas for the one you love….
I love the idea of Valentines Day as a day to celebrate your love but I really don't think all of the commercialisation of the day is necessary. Almost as soon as Christmas was over, the shops were stocking up on all things pink and red in preparation for the day when couples feel almost obligated to buy something that costs more than it should just because it's pink, red or has a heart on it to show how much they love their partner.Don't get me wrong, we did the whole Valentine's gift thing the first few years that we were together but these days, we make our presents more about the … [Read more...]
Five Frugal Things I’ve done this week {3 February 2017}….
1) This week we've saved some money on our broadband and TV package just by ringing and asking if there was a better deal available for us. I've written a separate post on this but basically we're stuck with the same provider as they're the only ones who do the superfast broadband which is pretty much an essential with a teen, a tween, a gamer and a blogger in the house. The company know they're the only ones who supply this at the moment so it does hamper our negotiating ability a little. ;-)We have the smallest TV package available so that kind of counteracts the price of the broadband … [Read more...]
My February Goals….
When I wrote my January goals post last month I knew that I was going to have a difficult month but I still set myself quite a few targets for all areas of my life. I'm glad I did though because it really helped me to focus the little energy I had at times through the month on achieving some of the things I wanted to do but I definitely didn't achieve all my goals by any means.I've been back at work now for three weeks and although I love being back (am I the only person who loves their job?) I do think I possibly went back a little early. Despite feeling about a hundred times better … [Read more...]

Frugal French Dip Sandwiches….
One of the reasons I love my slow cooker is the ability it gives me to buy a cheaper cut of meat and still turn it into a delicious meal.Brisket, for example, is much cheaper to buy than a joint of beef but after being cooked in the slow cooker for the day it tastes melt in your mouth gorgeous. You'd never guess from tasting it that it's a cheap cut of meat but it costs a good few pounds less than a more expensive beef joint of the same weight. We often buy it on offer in our local Supermarket who sell it even cheaper than usual once every month or so which makes it even better … [Read more...]
