It's been a few months since Miss Frugal has done a review of her monthly Birchbox subscription box but she loved this month's box that much that she asked if she could share it with you.....Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics - Lip Tar Primer This is supposed to help keep your lipstick in place and looking good for longer which basically means it makes your lipstick stay on for longer than usual. It works and it feels really nice and doesn't feel sticky on your lips like some do. It smells minty because of the peppermint oils in it.Marcelle - BB Cream Golden Glow Illuminator This … [Read more...]
The Rose Gold Gift Guide….
I think I mentioned in my Teen girl gift guide that Miss Frugal was rather obsessed with all things rose gold at the moment (honestly, she is OBSESSED - everything from her phone to her trainers is rose gold right now).Anyway, I spent an hour this morning having a look around to see what stocking fillers I could get her that would satisfy her love of rose gold and I realised there was an awful lot of rose gold loveliness out there.I thought I'd make a little rose gold gift guide to share the prettiness with you all but I just wanted to make it clear that if a certain 14 year old is … [Read more...]
My can’t do without Blogging Tools….
People often ask me how I manage to fit in everything that I do blogging wise when it's not my full time job and usually when they do, I look at them and reply 'I just do' because I don't know what else to say.Maybe the fact that it's not my full time job and I'm not reliant on the income that blogging often brings helps me because I still get to do this for fun which means that I still love blogging but without the obligation as I don't feel pressure to earn money from it (although that's nice). It could also be because my children are a little older at 11 and 14 so on an evening when I … [Read more...]
Five Fabulously Frugal Things I’ve done this week {11th November 2016}….
1) I've started using my student card more often over the last week or so and this week I finally got around to downloading the app on my phone so I could see exactly where I could be using it to save money. You'd be surprised how many place there are where you can get discount so I'm trying to make the most of the card by using it wherever I can.My Card cost £12 for a year and I got it through a course I'm doing at work but you don't have to be an actual student to get one as you qualify with lots of online courses. I actually helped my friend set herself one up this week and it cost £5 … [Read more...]
Chocolate Banoffee Quesadillas….
A few years ago, for some unknown reason, Mr Frugal bought me a quesadilla maker for Christmas. I can only assume it's because he wasn't happy with the standard of my quesadillas although he swears that he bought it because he thought I'd appreciate the quirkiness of the little Mexican hat covered gadget. It makes life easier when I make quesadillas (about once a month) but aside from that it just gathers dust in the back of the cupboard. So when I was decluttering the kitchen and trying to get rid of any gadgets that are just taking up space (slushie maker anyone?) the poor little … [Read more...]
Say Yes to your children more than you say No….
Do you often find yourself saying NO to your children when they ask you something?I'm not talking about saying no to things that it's reasonable to say no to - going out after dark, eating too much of the wrong stuff and staying up too late on the Xbox are some of the things that come to mind when I mean things that it's reasonable to say no to.My question should really be phrased a bit differently I guess because the point I'm trying to make is that sometimes when our children ask us a question, we say no without a very good reason. We might say no to a trip to the beach of to … [Read more...]
