I might have mentioned that Miss Frugal has discovered Pinterest recently and has all sorts of random boards set up (including a Christmas wish list) but her favourite board by far is her beauty hacks board and she's regularly sharing new beauty life hacks with me.Over the last week or so she's shared quite a few with me that have actually been quite good and it's got me thinking about what money saving life hacks I can come up with. These are the first lot that I've come up with....When you're doing your weekly shop, look at the products on the lower and higher shelves as … [Read more...]
Homemade delicious and creamy slow cooker rice pudding….
Sometimes, when the skies are grey outside and you're not feeling your best, the best thing for you is some good old fashioned home cooked comfort food and the best comfort food I know is our gorgeous slow cooker rice pudding! Yesterday afternoon was one of those afternoons where comfort food was called for but seeing as I wasn't feeling great, I called on Master Frugal to take over the kitchen and make us a batch.Slow cooker rice pudding really is easy to make yet it tastes so delicious and always makes me feel better. What to buy a tween boy for Christmas – as written by a tween boy….
Last week I shared with you a gift guide that Miss Frugal put together with her ideas on what to buy a teenage girl for Christmas this year and this week I wanted to share one that she's helped Master Frugal put together on what to buy a tween boy for Christmas. As with Miss Frugal's guide, I haven't edited it or taken off the things that I'm not a fan of because then it wouldn't be his ideas but I can tell you that if I had edited it a bit then you wouldn't be seeing at least one of the suggestions can you guess which one? ;-)I suspect the first thing on the list has been … [Read more...]

Budget DIY Lush Oatifix Facemask….
I might have mentioned in the past that Miss Frugal has a slight obsession with Lush which has resulted in rather a lot of her pocketmoney being spent in our local store in the past. The problem for her is that she's now trying to save up for our trip to New York next year so she's decided no more Lush until we get back - which should in fact be quite easy considering that she has at least a year's supply of bath bombs in her room somewhere!Because she isn't buying anything from Lush right now, she's been scouring Pinterest for her favourite products to see if she can make her own … [Read more...]
Five Fabulously Frugal Things I’ve done this week {28th October 2016}….
I'm so sorry if you've already seen this post or if you left a comment last week but the whole post got eaten by my blog over the weekend so I've had to redo it. Hope that's OK, Cass x x 1) This one is going to make us sound a bit greedy but we like our food here so don’t judge. Along with my usual batch cooked meals I often have ready made pies in the freezer for a quick and easy meal when I don’t have time (or energy) to cook. I used to serve two pies each (not for the kids obviously) because that’s what my Dad used to serve when we had pies when I was growing up and I just did it … [Read more...]
