We found some pathetic looking peaches and lemons in the reduced section at the shop last night so I decided to try my hand at making some sort of peach lemonade type drink. It turned our really delicious so being the lovely person that I am, I thought I'd share it with you although the photos don't really do it justice as it's such a grey day outside that I'm struggling to find any sunlight at all!Homemade Peach Lemonade 100ml water a handful of ice cubes 2 peaches, peeled and chopped the juice of 1 1/2 lemons we also added an orange as we had one sat looks lonely in the fruit … [Read more...]
My favourite guilty pleasure….
I'm pretty sure that I've mentioned hundreds a few times that I love moving house and since I bought my first house, I've moved house four times and spent countless hours searching for our next dream home browsing online estate agents sites. As much as I love where we live now, I do love looking at other people's houses. I like to see how they're decorated and get ideas for what I'd like to do in my own house but even sadder than that, I like to pretend that I've won the lottery and find a house that I would like to live in if money was no object.I sometimes forget that these sites are … [Read more...]
A Budget Bedroom Makeover for a 9 year old boy….
I briefly mentioned last week that Master Frugal has been unwell recently last week so I won’t go into it too much today other than to say that we've had his blood test results back and although they can't say what's wrong yet, they can say it's not one of the 'big' things that we were worrying about. We have to go back again for more tests in a couple of weeks but we're just happy at the moment that whatever it is isn't as bad as we thought it could be!In the meantime, we thought we'd try and help with his problem of getting to sleep at night by giving him a bit of a bedroom … [Read more...]

10 Social Media Lessons your child needs to learn….
Social Media is great - used correctly it's a great way to stay in touch with friends and family, to meet like minded people and even to follow your favourite celebrities and brands. But there's a different side to social media, the side that I don't want my children to experience but that I'm having to consider now that Miss Frugal is coming to the age where she is asking if she can have her own Facebook and twitter account.Lots of her friends already have them but I'm reluctant for many reasons not least because the age restrictions are there for a reason and to join, I would have to … [Read more...]
Please don’t tell the kids that I’ve shared these videos….
Look at these cute (but not great quality) videos I just found while I was in the process of tidying up my YouTube channels. This first one is a very cute seven year old Miss Frugal telling you all how to bake a cake....I also found this one which brings back a few nightmares (fast forward to around 10 seconds before the end and you'll see what I mean)...And this one which make my ears hurt....I'm trying to figure out if there's a way to transfer them to my new YouTube channel but I don't think you can so I thought I'd share them on here instead.Let's just hope the kids … [Read more...]
