Ear piecing for boys – yay or nay….
Today Miss Frugal is going to get her ears pierced. Possibly.I'm happy for her to get them done, after all, I had mine done when I was younger than her but we've been away the last week and we'd decided that today was going to be the day as I want her to have had them in for as long as possible before she goes back to school in September. But she's woken up today and can't decide if she really does want them doing, so we'll have to see what happens. One person who very definitely does want pierced ears (or rather ear to be more precise) is Master Frugal who is desperate to have his … [Read more...]
The best way to watch Sunderland Airshow….
We look forward to the Sunderland Airshow every year and every year we go, get stuck in lots of traffic on our way to the park and ride, watch some fantastic flying displays and then get stuck in lots more traffic on the way home. The Airshow itself is amazing, especially for Mr Frugal who like to think of himself as a bit of an expert because he can name most of the planes that we see, but the traffic that we inevitably get stuck in usually means that the day isn't as enjoyable as it could be.So we had high hopes for this years Airshow when we were invited to watch it from a DFDS ferry … [Read more...]

#SummerofFrugalFun – Cooking with kids….
One of our favourite stay at home activities is baking (and eating the results).I try and stay away from anything complicated as I just want them to enjoy being in the kitchen at this age and we like to make it as fun as possible so colourful sprinkles are definitely the way to go in our house and you certainly can't be precious about what the end result looks like when there's a child in charge.Last week Miss Frugal made some chocolate cupcakes on her own while I sat and played on my laptop watched her and they turned out looking very different to how I would have made them (gold … [Read more...]
