Planning our girly weekend….
Miss Frugal and I have decided to start a new family tradition - we're going to have a girls only weekend away together every year and leave the men at home (preferably with a list of jobs to do by the time we get home). We did it last year and had a great time so we're currently in the middle of planning our next trip.Last year's pictures - sorry about the pink, I was going through a pink phase I think ;-) She's started planning it already in the special notebook she's assigned to the task ;-)So far she's decided that London is the best place for us to go and she has a list of … [Read more...]
A Born Worrier….
I'm a worrier.I can't help it, I've worried since I was a little girl and I've had to really really try hard not to show the children how much I worry sometimes. When I was little, I used to worry about the kitchen cupboards falling off the walls in the kitchen if my Dad bought too many tins!I think poor Master Frugal has inherited my worry gene as he often worries about little things and has a bit of a tendency to blow things out of proprotion in his head until he gets himself all wound up.To help him deal with his worries, I bought him a set of Guatamalan Worry Dolls for … [Read more...]
Toys, toys and more toys….
If your children are any thing like mine, their bedrooms will probably be bursting with toys - some loved, some they've grown out of, some they don't play with and even, in our case, some that have never been out of the box! Don't get me wrong, we don't spoil our two but the fact is that even just taking into account birthdays, Christmas and the opportunity for them to spend their own pocket money at car boot sales has resulted in them having a lot of toys each.We have a regular clear out and have one planned for this week which the kids are looking forward to. Not.There's lots of … [Read more...]
Did I blink….
....and miss a few years of Miss Frugal's life. She suddenly seems to look a lot older than she did a few months ago! It's probably just my imagination but I'm sure she looks older than nine. I think I might have to start putting her hair in pigtails to make her look a bit younger ;-) … [Read more...]
Family friendly Frugal Meals – Lemon Turkey Pappadelle Pasta….
I haven't posted my meal plan for a few weeks as it's been a bit samey samey lately! In fact, most weeks I could just copy and paste the previous weeks plan and change the days around a bit.I'm not making excuses but I leave for work at 7.20 in the morning, dropping the kids off at breakfast club for 7.30. I then finish work at 2.30 and rush to get them from school and get in about 3.15, so by the time I get home, I just want to cook something easy that I know everyone will enjoy which is why I stick to the same meals. But, I'm not only bored with cooking the same meals now, I suspect … [Read more...]
