Over the last month or so, Master Frugal has started sneaking into our bed in the middle of the night and snuggling in between us. He's such an expert at it now that he can climb in, get himself under the quilt and manage to half push one of us out of the bed before we wake up. There doesn't seem to be any underlying reason for him wanting to sleep with us, it's just that when he gets up in the night to go to the toilet, he uses the bathroom in our room and when he's done, I think ours is the closest bed! We send him back to bed as soon as we notice he's in with us (most of the time) … [Read more...]
Happy New Year….
So it's Goodbye 2010 and Hello 2011. We've had lots of fun together this year and I was considering doing a round up of the year for you but then I decided it would be slightly less boring for you if I just shared some of my favourite photo's from the year with you, so here you go....The year seems to have gone really fast and I must admit that I'm ending the year in a much happier place than when it started - I just feel more positive about everything and I'm looking forward to next year. I even have my resolutions planned out and duly written up in my brand new notbook.I love the … [Read more...]

What do you think? … [Read more...]
Get Crafty – Recycled Sweet Wrappers
Let's face it, Christmas wouldn't be Christmas without at least one tub of Quality Street or Roses would it?This Christmas we've been saving all of our wrappers in preparation for Get Crafty, much to Mr Frugal's annoyance as one of his pet hates is people eating the sweets and putting the wrappers back in the tin ;-)We were going to make stained glass windows for the kids bedrooms but a last minute change of plan meant that we decided to make stained glass bookmarks instead as Miss Frugal decided she was desperate for a bookmark for the book she's reading now - … [Read more...]
Cooking with Kids – Cheese Straws….
I know I've said this before but just in case you missed it, I'll say it again :-) I think it's really important that we teach our children to cook. I spend lots of time in the kitchen with my two and we all really enjoy the time we spend together in there.I want to share some of the things we cook together with you but I also want you to join in with your children, so I'm going to have a cooking with kids challenge every fortnight and I'd love you to join in. I'll post a recipe on here and then you have two weeks to go away and make it with your children and add you recipe to the … [Read more...]
Can I Take My Tree Down Now….
We had a brilliant Christmas this year, the kids got everything they'd asked for and more, except for one present that never arrived because the order got messed up (Thanks Asda!), there were no arguments or tears or overtired temper tantrums - in fact, it was as close to a perfect Christmas as you could imagine. We have a set routine at Christmas, we each have stockings that we hang on our bedroom doors for Santa to leave a satsuma, chocolate coins and a small pressie in and we always sit on our bed and open these before sending Mr Frugal downstairs to see if Santa's been. Then we all … [Read more...]
