This is the story of a mother's broken dreams and disappointments (drama queen - moi?)....Miss Frugal: I have a super special surprise for you mammy because I love you so much.Me: Ooooh, I like surprises (already picturing Mr Frugal buying me the bracelet I've been after and giving it to her to give to me).Miss Frugal: (presents me with the small box she was hiding behind her back)Me: Whatever could be in there? (so convinced it's the bracelet)Miss Frugal: Nothing! The box is your present - I made it for you. Don't you like it? (said with a sad face)Me: Yes … [Read more...]
Bored, Bored, Board…. The Sequel
A little while ago we made our own board game called the Razzle Dazzle game and even if I do say so myself, it was brilliant. I can't for the life of me understand why Mattel or some other game making company aren't banging on out door trying to buy the rights to it (or not lol). We do actually still play it every now and again as Miss Frugal is so proud that she made her very own board game, she even took it to school with her for games day on the last day of school. So when she asked if we could make another one, I could hardly say no, could I?We were a bit limited with … [Read more...]
A curl up and die moment….
Everyone knows that when you have kids, it's practically impossible to have a bath without being interrupted or to even have a wee without a little person following you to the toilet. I don't even shut the toilet door at home anymore because that's like an open invitation for a child to come in, but you would think that I would remember to close the cubicle door at work wouldn't you? You'd be wrong though! Can you believe I went for a wee at work today and out of habit, I forgot to close the toilet door.... And yes, someone did walk in!This is the only toilet photo I have, it's the … [Read more...]
Back to School (Daddy Style)….
Today was the first day back at school for my two and I was a bit gutted because I had to be at work for 8am this morning, I left strict instructions with Mr Frugal to make sure he took the customary back to school photo and e mail it to me at work so I could have a proud mummy moment. I was so organised (which is not like me at all) that last night before bed, I lovingly ironed their uniform and labelled every item with my trusty sharpie. I laid out everything they needed on the settee so when they got up this morning all they needed to do was get washed and dressed. Before I went to … [Read more...]
One day in August….
I love the theme for this week's Gallery - One day in August. The day is Sunday 29th August, which is the day that three bloggers set out on their journey to Bangledesh to see the work that Save the Children are doing out there and to raise awareness of the Press For Change campaign. I've just been over to the Save the children website to get some facts and figures to include in my post as I wanted to do my but to raise awareness and I am shocked by the figures that are being quoted. Apparently in the time it takes to read this, a mother-to-be will needlessly die. By the time you are … [Read more...]
Do you have a favourite child….
I just read an interesting article on Parentdish about having a favourite child and it made me ask myself if I have a favourite. My two are so completely different that sometimes I wonder that they're actually related!Miss Frugal is the eldest, she's 8 in a couple of weeks although you may well mistake her for a teenager on occasion (check out the attitude on that photo)! She's pretty well behaved most of the time and likes to think that she's in charge of everything and everyone. She's never been shy or had a problem making friends or learning new things and wherever she is, she tends … [Read more...]
