It's now officially half term which means that 'Operation: Family Fun Half Term' is officially underway. (By the way, that's the kids name not mine - I'm geeky but not that geeky lol)We've got loads of activities planned for this week and I've managed to put in a few days holiday from work so I'm looking forward to spending lots of time together....I asked the kids this morning what they wanted to do today and Master Frugal asked if he could do some baking with me, which was fine as I love baking with both of them but he likes to do everything himself so I try and choose really … [Read more...]
Dilemma….
As the title suggests, I have a dilemma and need your help.I'm generally not a person who cares about household objects but I love, love, love my Smeg fridge. I've always wanted one and I bought a second hand one off someone at work last year for £150.00 - an absolute bargain considering they cost over £1000.00 when they're new. Look at it, it's beautiful. It's a lovely mint green colour that matches my kitchen lovely and I love it (have you noticed how many times I've said that?)BUT, lately it's developed a few 'little' issues. My mother in law snapped the door off the ice box … [Read more...]
The Gallery – Friendship….
I love the theme for this week's Gallery, I can't wait to see everyone's take on the theme of Friendship. I'm not going to say much this week (not like me lol) - I'm going to let the pictures do the talking. … [Read more...]
Who’s Afraid of the Big Bad Tooth Fairy…?
A very exciting event has occurred this evening in the Frugal household - Master Frugal has lost his first tooth! At least it was exciting until it dawned on him that the tooth fairy would be paying him a visit tonight while he was asleep. To cut a long story short, after ten minutes of tears and trying to persuade him that the tooth fairy isn't evil, the tooth is now sitting on our TV cabinet in the living room. There was no persuading him to put it under his pillow so this was daddy's compromise (it was that or we were going to have to drop it off at Grandad's so the tooth fairy could … [Read more...]
Boys will be boys (or girls)….
Mr Frugal and I have an ongoing battle of sorts about Master Frugal and his love of his sister's toys. Personally I think it's only natural that he wants to play with Miss Frugal's toys but Mr Frugal encourages him to play only with his own toys and tries to stop him from playing with what he sees as 'girly' toys. For example, I'm quite happy to go for a walk with the kids both pushing pushchairs with dolls in them but Mr Frugal wouldn't come with us if I let them do this! He thinks that girls should play with dolls and dress up and that boys should play with guns and cars and he … [Read more...]
What am I afraid of….
Thank you to the lovely Nickie over at Typecast for tagging me in the latest meme doing the rounds of the blogosphere - What are you afraid of? This one is ideal for me because I'm a bit of a worrier by nature so I'm afraid of lots of things, most of them irrational. The two that make Mr Frugal laugh are my kitchen cupboard fear and my straight stair phobia so rather than bore you by telling you about my 'normal' fear of spiders (evil creatures), injections (had a bad experience) and rollercoasters (what the point of them) I thought I would tell you about my weird phobias. Before I do … [Read more...]
