It's a bit miserable outside today isn't it? Grey skies and drizzly rain mean that we're not going far today. Miss Frugal is still at her friends house and Master Frugal is really missing her. He's sat on the settee in his Power Ranger's costume with a sad face waiting for her to come back. We decided to look and some happy pictures as I was downloading them from my camera to the computer and these are his favourite four taken yesterday at the playpark. They cheered him up for all of about ten seconds and now he's miserable again! Oh well, lets see if Handy Manny can cheer him up.... I … [Read more...]
My Monthly Budget….
Every few months or so I review our monthly budget to see where we can save a bit extra, it's always me that does this as Mr Frugal genuinely does not have a clue about money. Home made flapjacks….
As the lovely people from Green and Blacks sent me some cooking chocolate to use, it would have been rude not to use it to make something yummy lol.We decided to make some flapjacks because Miss Frugal loves them but the ones she likes with the chocolate topping on are 89p in the shop round the corner.Apart from the chocolate, we had everything else in so they were surprisingly cheap to make.Ingredients80g brown sugar100g butter or margarine250g oats (we used the value porridge oats leftover from our reindeer dust at Christmas)2 tablespoons golden syrupApprox 100g bar of chocolate (we used 2/3 … [Read more...]
Look what the Postman brought me….
I have mixed feelings about the delivery I got this morning from those lovely people at Green and Blacks Chocolate. They have sent me a gazillion chocolate bars to taste, which I am more than happy to do lol, however, I have the slightest feeling that there are a large number of syns in each of these lovely bars.Oh well, I will sacrifice my diet for the greater good of mankind and will let you know my findings shortly lol.P.S. It's OK, I'm not giving up on my diet, just postponing it until Monday ;-) … [Read more...]
