I fell off the meal planning wagon last week and spent a fortune. Without a meal plan, I did our usual weekly shop, had three extra trips to the shops midweek and ended up having two takeaways. How bad is that?
I need to get back to being organised as it looks like Mr Frugal’s last couple of months doing nights at work is coming to an end. Recently he’s been at home all day so he’s managed (just) to cope with cooking tea. Now he’ll be getting in the same time as me we’ll need to be more organised with getting tea ready in advance wherever possible. Also we’re going to be down a bit of money because he got a shift premium for nights, although we haven’t had chance to get used to the extra yet so it’s just like going back to what we had coming in two months ago if youknow what I mean.
So now I’m back with avengence (is that even a real word) with this weeks meal plan!
Monday
Lunch – Hot Dogs and chocolate lol
Tea – Macaroni Cheese with Sausages
Tuesday
Lunch – Sandwiches
Tea – Grown ups out for tea (all expenses paid lol) so the kids can have home made fish fingers, chips and beans.
Wednesday
Lunch – Home made Quiche
Tea – Quesadillas If I can figure out how to flip the bloody things without them exploding all over my pan.
Thursday
Lunch – Sandwiches
Tea – Mince and onions with mini roasties and yorkshire puddings. I’ll make some mini shepherds pies to freeze with the leftovers.
Friday
Lunch – Sandwiches
Tea – Home made wraps – might do a bit of cajun chicken to go in them although the kids are happy with ham, cheese and salad.
There that should keep us away from the shops 😉
