A little while ago we made our own board game called the Razzle Dazzle game and even if I do say so myself, it was brilliant. I can’t for the life of me understand why Mattel or some other game making company aren’t banging on out door trying to buy the rights to it (or not lol).
We do actually still play it every now and again as Miss Frugal is so proud that she made her very own board game, she even took it to school with her for games day on the last day of school. So when she asked if we could make another one, I could hardly say no, could I?
We were a bit limited with what we could make as we couldn’t find any scissors (I think the scissor fairy must have ‘borrowed’ them, along with the teaspoons and socks), so we decided on a Snakes and Ladders type game….
We stuck two pieces of A4 card together and used a ruler to mark out squares, which we then numbered (backwards for some reason). The big fat brown things that look like poo are actually snakes that you slide sown if you land on them, at the bottom of each snake was a prison that madam decided you had to roll a six to get out of! She added a few ‘Miss a Turn’ squares and a couple of ‘Roll Again’ squares and hey presto…. Snakes and Prisons was born.
If I’m honest, I don’t think this one’s going to catch on but it passed an hour or two 😉 And in the meantime, we’re still open to offers on the Razzle Dazzle game – it could be the next Monopoly or Cluedo lol.
