Our local car boot sale has started back up again after the Winter break so this morning we decided to pop along and see what bargains we could find.
I’m being really strict with myself and trying very hard not to buy something just because it’s a good price unless I think we can sell it on to make a bit of a profit! We’re trying to de-clutter the house and if I wasn’t careful it would be so easy to undo all of the work we’ve done so far to get rid of things we don’t need.
The first thing I bought was a heavy rusty metal candle stand for 50p which was a bargain for what I had in mind for it. As soon as I saw it I knew it was the ideal height to use it as a little mini stand to put my drinks on in the living room rather than larger coffee table. I was over the moon to find a stall selling all sorts of colours of Dulux paint for metal for £2. I rummaged through the box of paints and found one in the same shade as my living room curtains and practically skipped my way around the rest of the boot sale as I was so excited to get home and start my little up-cycling project.
The paint is amazing and covered the metal in just one coat although I gave it two just to give it a good finish. I have no idea if you can buy it at somewhere like B&Q but if you have a project that involves painting a metal object then you should definitely consider this one!
I’m just waiting for it to dry before I decide if it’s done or if it needs something else and then I’ll show you the finished result.
I bought these cute little terracotta bowls for a pound from a lady who practically forced them on me as she really didn’t want to take them home with her at the end of the day. There’s one huge one and three smaller ones although I don’t think the photo really shows the sizes properly.
This is my best bargain of the day without a doubt! It’s a Homedics Shiatsu Foot Massager with heat which we paid just £1 for. It’s selling on the Boots website for £49.99 so this is a huge bargain! Ours is in immaculate condition and definitely something we can sell on if we don’t want to keep it.
And that’s all we bought today which is pretty good if you ask me!
