1. We don't go to the chip shop very often but when we do go Miss Frugal loves the curry sauce from there, in fact the curry sauce is probably the only reason she likes having a cheeky chippy tea. When I was shopping last week I found some Bisto curry sauce granules that I just have to add boiling water to and chip shop style curry sauce appears. ;-) And before you say it, I know it's filled with crap but she'd be having it from the chip shop at a pound a time and this only costs 99p for 10 portions. It has a long sell by date so it'll last for lots of chippy tea treats to come!2. … [Read more...]
Do you waste money on presents at Christmas….
I'm not going to ask you how much you spend on your children at Christmas because, let's face it, it as nothing to do with me how much you spend. What I wanted to ask you to do today is to consider if some of the things you buy are a waste of money?Every year I see toys and gifts being advertised on TV that I look at and think are a complete waste of money. Toys that look amazing but will rarely live up to expectations - they'll be played with once or twice before being relegated to the back of the cupboard. And don't even get me started on the huge range of novelty gifts that have … [Read more...]

Five Frugal things I’ve done this week to save money {13th November 2015}….
1. You might remember from last week's post that we had a cheeky weekend away? Well we had a great time and I'm pleased to say that it was the sort of weekend where we didn't really spend any more money than we would have at home. Apart from our entrance fee to the Gretna Green museum, we used our English Heritage cards to visit Carlisle Castle and spent the rest of the time using the facilities at the holiday park where we were staying. We didn't eat out at all as the kitchen had everything I needed to cook just as well as I could at home. We didn't even go for a drink or to the … [Read more...]
Who needs a Sat Nav when you have your phone….

Now I know I mentioned this app a few months ago in one of my weekly ‘Five Frugal Things posts but having used it again last weekend, I’ve decided it needs a post all of its own!I’m not … [Read more...]
