There's kind of a holiday theme going on in this week's five frugal things post as we've booked a weekend away for this weekend. ;-) Five frugal things I've done this week:Despite knowing that this was the weekend we wanted to go away I only booked the holiday yesterday as I wanted to get the best deal possible. We managed to get an amazing deal with Butlins which is where the kids were desperate to go back to and it was cheaper than we were expecting to pay so I also booked adventure passes for them which are cheaper if you pre-book. I would definitely recommend leaving it until the … [Read more...]
Five Frugal things I’ve done this week to save money {14th August 2015}….
Five frugal things I've done this week:Today is my last day at work until September and I honestly could not be more excited. We have so many things that we want to do and we're planning a family conference tonight over takeaway (paid for with vouchers I earned by sharing Zeek with you all) and plan our fortnight. I used Tesco Boost and with my points I managed to get enough vouchers for a lovely meal an Pizza Express, another meal out at a pub chain that I can't for the life of me remember the name of and a day out at Ocean Beach theme park. Not bad for free! It's always … [Read more...]
How to hold a fun frugal festival in your own back garden….
Despite seeing lots of amazing photos online of the fun that everyone's been having at this Summer's family festivals across the UK, we still haven't made it to one as a family. We decided to have a bit of a festival at home instead though to take advantage of one of the few really sunny days that we've seen this year and I'm pleased to say that the now annual frugal festival was a success and we had a lovely day!We got to choose our own music, we had food and drink on tap and we didn't have to pitch a tent and camp out. Not to mention the fact that we had no wifi issues and we got to … [Read more...]

Five Frugal things I’ve done this week to save money {7th August 2015}….
Five frugal things I've done this week: OK, I’m going to hold my hands up and admit that I don’t think I’ve actually done five frugal things this week. Or at least I haven’t done five absolute stand out frugal things this week so there is a very good chance that I may have to change the title of this post by the time I finish writing it.Not a big deal really but I’ve made a real effort to take my lunch to work with me this week. I’ve gotten out of this habit a little bit while the kids have been off school, probably due to our complete lack of routine at the moment. I’m at the stage … [Read more...]
Five Frugal things I’ve done this week to save money {31st July 2015}….
Five frugal things I've done this week: 1. You might have read my post yesterday about our weekend of family fun in Manchester last weekend and if you did then I'm sure you're wondering why on earth I'm referring to out not-so-frugal annual trip in my five frugal things post.
