Five frugal things I've done this week: 1. We finally cancelled Sky TV! A few weeks ago Virgin Media installed the fibre optic broadband in our street finally and we got some quotes which would save us money as well as give us much better broadband but we've been waiting for the man to pop around to sort it. He came earlier in the week and we're all good to go with an installation date of 11 July so we've cancelled Sky and BT finally.I had a dreadful experience with Sky which led me to complain on Twitter but their Social team arranged for someone to call me and a lovely lady rang and … [Read more...]

Five Frugal things I’ve done this week to save money {19th June 2015}….
Before I start, I need to point out that I've been feeling a bit fed up with myself this week (Master Frugal has been away for 3 nights and I've had an infection in my finger/hand making pretty much everything painful).Things are on the up now that it's Friday though - I have my boy back home and the infection has almost cleared up so I'm going to try and think of five frugal things that I've done this week although for the first time since I started this, I think I'm going to really struggle to think of five..... 10 ways to use Bicarbonate of Soda….

5 easy Steps to becoming more frugal….
(OK, there is a slight possibility that I *may* have lied about it being easy) 1. Know your monthly budget First things first, you need to calculate your monthly budget (you can use my free printable budget planner if it helps) and work out how much money you have left over at the end of the month. Five frugal things I've done this week: 1. We finally got around to having a car boot sale (you can read all about it here) and considering it was quite windy and we were mostly selling Miss Frugal's junk things I actually think we did really well. Everything that we didn't sell went straight to the charity shop so I'd call that a frugal and de-cluttering success!2. This one involves a bit of a white lie so please don't hold it against me ;-)As I mentioned last week, Miss Frugal wanted a room makeover because she wanted her room to be a bit more grown up. We went to B&Q … [Read more...]
