I haven't really had time to be frugal or otherwise this week as it's been another chaotic week for one reason or another but I'll try and see if I can think of five things.... Five frugal things I've done this week: 1. I've spent half an hour this morning driving round town - stopping at the leisure centre, the museum and the youth centre to get their Summer Holiday leaflets. Tonight I'm going to sit and make a plan of action for the next week as I have a lovely week off to spend with the kids.2. Speaking of activities, one thing on our list was ice skating and this notification … [Read more...]
Five Frugal things I’ve done this week to save money {10th July 2015}….
Five frugal things I've done this week: 1. We went to the car boot sale last weekend to try and find some tennis rackets for the kids to play Tennis with over the Summer. I usually buy some from the pound shop but as they're a bit older this year, I thought spending a bit more would be beneficial so we headed off to the boot sale. We managed to buy two great Wilson rackets for £1 each which was a great bargain - one of them is a Venus and Serena Williams edition which is £20+ online to buy. We also bought some badminton rackets from a couple of different stall holders and ended up paying … [Read more...]
Five Frugal things I’ve done this week to save money {3rd July 2015}….
Five frugal things I've done this week: 1. I'm still trying to get my garden in better shape ready for the Summer so I was over the moon when I found some plants reduced from £5 to 50p in Tesco last night. They're currently sat on my little patio ready for me to plant in some pretty pots.2. I bought a big pack of Daz at Tesco this week reduced from £8 to £4 which will do at least 40 washes so it's a great deal at less than 10p a wash. I'm never loyal to products like this as they all do just as good a job as each other in my eyes so I just look out for the best deal. I'd normally … [Read more...]
Here’s my secret to organising family life….
I don't know about you but life can be chaotic around here sometimes!Take this coming week for example, I have to remember some important work meetings, what shifts Mr Frugal is working, the early finish and the non uniform day for Miss Frugal, a family fun day that needs cakes, raffle prizes and money for Master Frugal, numerous after school clubs, a lunch date with a friend and a dentists appointment for the kids. Oh, and an appointment for the dog with the groomers.Granted, next week is slightly busier than normal but even a normal week required more juggling than a clown to make … [Read more...]
Five Frugal things I’ve done this week to save money {26th June 2015}….
Five frugal things I've done this week: 1. We finally cancelled Sky TV! A few weeks ago Virgin Media installed the fibre optic broadband in our street finally and we got some quotes which would save us money as well as give us much better broadband but we've been waiting for the man to pop around to sort it. He came earlier in the week and we're all good to go with an installation date of 11 July so we've cancelled Sky and BT finally.I had a dreadful experience with Sky which led me to complain on Twitter but their Social team arranged for someone to call me and a lovely lady rang and … [Read more...]
