Nail varnish isn’t just for nails….
Miss Frugal has a bit of a nail varnish obsession and over the last year or so she's built up a great little collection which is filled with every colour imaginable along with all sorts of other nail related stuff. Thrifty Thursday – A good store cupboard can save you money….
I *try* to plan our meals each week but it's not always easy planning a week's worth of meals in advance and as much as I'd like to tell you that I stick to it rigidly every day, I can''t! There are regular last minute changes for lots of very boring reasons - no time to cook what was planned, forgot to put everything in the slow cooker on the morning, a hungry person ate what I was planning to cook when I wasn't looking. How to make your candles last as long as possible….
I'm afraid I've turned into a bit of a candle addict lately!I love the glow of a candle on a night and I love the scented candles that make my house smell so nice - the only problem is that the nicer a candle smells, the more I want to burn it which means that it burns down quicker and needs replacing sooner.Not great if you're trying to save money as candles aren't exactly a necessity are they?But there are ways to make a candle last a little bit longer so at least I feel like I'm doing my bit to be thrifty. ;-)Here's a few of the ways I know of....Keep the wick trimmed … [Read more...]
Thrifty Thursday – Print out your memories….
I've said before (lots of times I imagine) that I have a bit of a photo obsession and that I have thousands upon thousands of photos documenting our family life. They're all stored safely on an external hard drive and every now and again, I sit and look through them, often with the kids looking over my shoulder ooohing and aaahing as they see their favourite memories pop up on my laptop screen.Don't get me wrong, it's great to have these photos stored in a safe place but sometimes, I miss the old photo albums that we had when I was little, like the ones my Dad gave me after my Mam died. … [Read more...]
