Today's post is a guest post from the very lovely Ricky and Naomi who run the fantastic Skint Dad blog! Day time TV programmes like Cash in the Attic may feel like they’re for people who have decades worth of heirlooms in their homes, but it’s not just old antiques that are sought after. We live in a new world and retro is cool. The toys you played with as a kid could well be worth a fair bit of money today. You don’t know what you have until you look, and there are all sorts of treasures around your home that you may not realise could be sold for profit. And, if … [Read more...]
Five Frugal Things we did this week {15 March 2019}….
Every week I share five frugal things that I've done during that week just to show you that the small things you do all add up to a great frugal lifestyle where you can learn to live a fabulously frugal life. Before I start though, as always feel that I should say that being frugal to me is about getting the best value for our money - it's not about doing without for us or about not having nice things. We all have different financial situations and we're all frugal for different reasons. ;-)1) If you follow me on Instagram (shameless plug to get you to follow me there ;-)) … [Read more...]
Homemade Toilet Fizzers – the most fun you’ll have cleaning your toilet….
I first made homemade toilet fizzers last year when we had some mix leftover from our homemade bath bombs but I never shared them at the time as they were just a way of using up waste bath bomb mix and I wasn't sure how I'd get along with them but I love them and I've finally got around to making a second batch so I thought I'd share it with you....I love homemade cleaning products for most cleaning in my house - the exceptions are any surfaces where food is prepared or eaten and the toilets.I'm sure you get the first one but just in case, it's because I want to know that my … [Read more...]

Homemade Coconut Soap…
A while ago now, I shared my first attempt at making soap with you. My lovely Honey and Oatmeal Soap was so lovely that I decided to have a go at making a coconut soap because as the weather gets warmer, coconut is definitely one of my favourite scents.I always thought that making your own soap was quite a long process and I'm petty sure that the traditional way involves something that requires gloves and a facemask which put me off having a go myself so I've never looked into it too much. But then I discovered something called 'Melt and Pour Soap Base' which is amazing and … [Read more...]
How I meal plan as a working Mum with NO time….
It's been a while since I shared my meal plan on here (or even on my meal planning blog for that matter) so I thought I'd share this week's plan with you and give you a bit of an update on a few changes we've had over the last few months. The last few months have been a bit chaotic with my new job as I've struggled a little bit to fit everything in that I usually do with the slightly longer working days that I have now. I've just about got things back under control now but I've had to change our routine a little bit to accommodate the fact that I'm getting home a bit later and … [Read more...]
