Every week I share five frugal things that I've done during that week just to show you that the small things you do all add up to a great frugal lifestyle where you can learn to live a fabulously frugal life. Before I start though, as always feel that I should say that being frugal to me is about getting the best value for our money - it's not about doing without for us or about not having nice things. We all have different financial situations and we're all frugal for different reasons. ;-)1) Did you catch my batch cooking post on Monday? I somehow managed to cook twelve meals to … [Read more...]
Batch Cooking – One afternoon, twelve family meals….
Batch cooking is something I promised myself I'd get better at this year so, on Saturday, I had my first batch cooking session in ages and now have twelve meals in our freezer ready to use - just think how much time that's going to save me. I'm so lucky to have the freezer space I do - we have one freezer as part of the fridge freezer, one under-counter freezer and one big freezer in the garage - but I really could be so much cleverer when it comes to using the space. It's not that I don't already do a lot of batch cooking but usually, I just cook more food than we need and … [Read more...]

Five frugal things I plan to do in 2019….
Every year at this time, I have a good think about some of the things I want to change or improve in our lives and it seems to have become a bit of a tradition that I share them with you all here.Usually, my annual resolutions are very similar but this year, I feel like they're a bit different because our priorities are changing. We've reached a point in our life where we have no debt other than our mortgage and we want to start to be more grown up with our money. 1. Meal Planning Ok, I know I say meal planning is mentioned in my resolutions every single year but this year it's a … [Read more...]
Amazing Homemade DIY Shower Spray….
My homemade DIY shower spray is one of my favourite homemade cleaning recipes and considering how often our shower is used, it's one of my most used cleaning products. We have one shower in our house and it's the shower in my en-suite bathroom and whilst I would prefer that the kids (and even the husband) refrained from using my little bathroom, I've had to accept that isn't going to happen anytime soon - unless we have a bathroom redesign in the main bathroom to include a shower but that's not looking likely. ;-)But I do have rules if the kids want to use the shower in my bathroom … [Read more...]
