This amazing Christmas Waffle Recipe genuinely tastes of Christmas and I guarantee you're going to love it if you try it!Life is generally too busy for us to manage to have a sit-down family breakfast but every now and again, we manage a Sunday morning where we're all at home with no friends sleeping over and no work commitments. Those mornings are my favourite Sunday mornings because I just potter about the kitchen in my pyjamas and take my time making a lovely family breakfast for us all to enjoy together. We managed one of those mornings yesterday and this is what I … [Read more...]
How (not to) organise a photo wall or photo shelf….
We've had an amazing year for travel this year as a family and I really wanted to print out some of our photos to showcase some of our adventures. Jen suggested a photo shelf on the back wall of my kitchen would be nice so off I popped to IKEA to pick up a couple of them and some photo frames to use on the shelf.I love, love, love how it looks now but I'll be honest, it did take me a week and a couple of attempts to get it right! I thought you might like to see the step by step process in case you want to make your own photo shelf or wall....(Top tip - before following these … [Read more...]
Five Frugal Things I’ve done this week {8 December 2017}….
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas so we've gone all festive for this week's five frugal things post...1) Master Frugal has asked us to buy him for Christmas is an Xbox game and whilst I have no problem buying it for him for Christmas, I did ask him if he had any old games that he didn't play on anymore that I could take back to get it a bit cheaper. At this age, with only two presents on his wishlist, he knows he's getting it so I don't feel like I ruined a surprise of anything and the games he gave me to take back meant that I bought the game for just £8 which just means he gets … [Read more...]
Five Frugal Things I’ve done this week {1 December 2017}….
1) Our Alternative Advent calendar is done and ready to be opened tonight when the kids get home from school tonight. Don't tell them but today's envelope says that we'll be snuggling on the sofa watching Elf together as a family tonight which is one of our family traditions!2) Look what I got for 20p in Asda last week....It's actually two small bunches of 10p flowers that were reduced as they were looking a little sad - they soon perked up though when I got them home and in some water. They look lovely in my DIY painted vase!3) Our new little puppy, Monty, arrived this … [Read more...]
DIY Paint Chip Calendar….
This brilliant little DIY Paint Chip calendar is just what you need to be more organised (and stylish at the same time). When I went to the Festival of Thrift in September, I bought an amazing little book of those little paint sample cards - which I now know are called paint chips. I had no idea what I was going to do with it and I walked away from it twice but I ended up going back and paying £3 for it because I just loved all the amazing colours and knew there would be so much that I could make with the colourful samples.See, how could I possibly not buy that! The first … [Read more...]
Five Frugal Things I’ve done this week {24 November 2017}….
1) I have totally won at meal planning this week - honestly, it's been a meal planning triumph. ;-)So much so that I'm halfway through writing a post to be shared with you on Monday with a photo of every meal we've eaten this week - assuming I manage to keep this up over the weekend that is.2) It's Mr Frugal's Birthday today and instead of buying a cake for him, I had poor Master Frugal in the kitchen last night slaving away making his amazing chocolate traybake which worked out cheaper and tasted so much nicer than anything we could have bought in the shops.3)I know I've said … [Read more...]
