1) I've been after some houseplants for a while now, nothing fancy, just something small to go on my kitchen windowsill. I don't have a great record with plants to be honest though so I really didn't want to pay too much but at the same time I wanted something that would look nice - I don't want much, do I?I found two little plants at Tesco last week though in the reduced section. They were clearly in the reduced section because they looked past the point of saving but at 25p each, I thought I'd buy them and see if I could bring them back from the dead. I decided it was highly unlikely but … [Read more...]
Five Frugal Things we did in the Isle of Wight {11th August 2017}….
Last week we had a week away in the Isle of Wight where, despite the rain and the wind which was ridiculous at times, we had an amazing week. I actually wrote this while we were there (we came home last weekend) and intended to share it with you last Friday but the wifi was so bad that I didn't manage to post it so I hope you're OK with this week's five frugal things being a week behind....1) We’ve only eaten out once as we’ve made full use of the caravan’s teeny tiny kitchen. It’s not easy cooking for five in a small, not very well equipped caravan kitchen but we’ve tried our best and … [Read more...]

Five Frugal Things I’ve done this week {28th July 2017}….
1) We're have a lovely first week of the Summer holidays and have managed to get by without spending much money at all. I've been working until 3.30 each day but the kids have done various things like trampolining and swimming with friends while I've been out and we've had some chill out time together when I've been home as we were all exhausted. We've had so much going on and I just need a break really so walks to the beach on a night have been just what we've needed!2) I've had a look at the kids school uniforms and short of two Summer Holiday growth spurts I think we'll be OK to … [Read more...]
Streak Free Homemade Window Cleaner….
I'm sharing my streak free homemade window cleaner with you today and although it doesn't make window cleaning any more enjoyable, it does smell nice and is cheaper than the shop bought versions. Some of my most popular posts over the last 12 months have been my homemade cleaning spray, my homemade febreze and my lovely smelling homemade room spray so it seems that I'm not the only one who would rather use chemical free products around the home. ;-)Today I thought I'd share with you my streak free homemade window cleaner although I'm going to hold my hands up and admit … [Read more...]
Five Frugal Things I’ve done this week {21st July 2017}….

It's a good one so I'm sure you don't mind me sharing it this week instead, right?Basically, Miss Frugal's bedroom drawers fell apart and no amount of glue was going to save them this time around (they're the one's we bought for her nursery before she was born) so we popped to IKEA to buy the Malm drawers and bedside cabinet that she's had her eye on for the last year!As we always do, we headed to the Bargain Basement as the last stop before paying where we found the same set of drawers that we had in our … [Read more...]
