1) I've printed out a batch of my 'No Halloweeners here' sign for some friends who have young children that they don't want disturbing after a certain time. You can print one off for yourself if you'd like to here.I've seen that you can buy them in shops for a couple of pounds but it costs me pennies to print one off for them and it saves the stress of hoping that each knock isn't going to wake the kids up.2) I've made a batch of my homemade Halloween chocolate bark this week using a cheap pack of Halloween sweets that I got from the pound shop. I use value chocolate when I make … [Read more...]
Five Frugal Things I’ve done this week {20th October 2017}….
1) I bought a couple of Christmas gifts that I found reduced massively from about £8 to £1. I can't tell you what they are because blogs have ears but they're going to make a great addition to a little beauty hamper I'm making for Miss Frugal for Christmas Eve.2) I've been exercising lately, like real exercise that makes your face go red and your heart beat faster and I know, I'm just as shocked as you are. After we cleared out the garage and bought a few bits of exercise equipment for the kids I thought I'd give it a go myself and I'm pleased to report that I'm managing to do between 3 … [Read more...]
How Snowballing your debts will help you pay them off quicker AND save you money….
Have you heard the term 'snowballing' in relation to paying off any credit cards or store cards that you might have? Today, I'm going to tell you how snowballing your debts will help you to not only pay them off quicker but also save you money along the way!I'm sure you've guessed by now that snowballing your debts has nothing to do with the fun you can have outside when it snows or even the lovely snowball cocktails that my lovely old Nana used to make - although I'm not going to lie, it would be lovely if either of these things would help pay off your debts in any way at all, … [Read more...]
Five Frugal Things we did in Nice and Monaco {13th October 2017}….
If you follow my Instagram feed or read last week's five frugal things post then you'll know that we've been away for a cheeky family break to Nice and Monaco so as I did when we went to New York and Milan, this week's post is going to be dedicated to five frugal things we did in Nice and Monaco.1) When we checked in to our hotel, the lovely receptionist handed us a huge stack of tours and trips that they could book us on to if we wanted to do some sightseeing. I'd been googling for the last week so whilst I had definite plans for what we were going to be doing, I had no intention of … [Read more...]
Five Frugal Things I’ve done this week {6th October 2017}….
We're actually away right now which isn't very money saving but we did do a few things to keep the price of our break way down so I thought I'd tell you about them today....1) We've managed to get away a few times this year thanks to a LOT of shopping around and some flexibility with airports and dates. Our holiday to Milan earlier this year cost us a little over £400 in a 4* hotel because we looked at airports we wouldn't usually flight from, in this case Edinburgh. This time, we booked in advance and looked nationwide so we might be flying from Heathrow but we got return flights for the … [Read more...]
Five Frugal Things I’ve done this week {29th September 2017}….
1) This week we've been really trying to focus on No Spend Days and we've managed 3 since Sunday which is great for us - it would have been more but we had an unexpected school trip to pay for and I wanted to buy some flowers this morning as it would have been my brother's Birthday today. Tomorrow won't be a no spend day as I need to pop to the shop to get some things for our holiday next week but 3 out of 7 will do me for this week.If you want to focus on No Spend Days then I have a little no spend tracker you might like to use here.2) I've topped up my Kindle with free books … [Read more...]
