Happy Christmas Eve Eve!Tomorrow is my favourite day of the year and I can't wait for the kids to get up so we can get the day started with our traditional homemade pancakes and syrup breakfast. Knowing them, they're probably going to sleep until I get too excited and have to go and get them out of bed. ;-)We're having a relaxing Christmas Eve this year and don't have any plans to go out although I'll no doubt end up having to go and get something vital that I've forgotten. Sometimes we pop to the cinema after breakfast as our local cinema usually do the movies for juniors on … [Read more...]
Seven super simple rules for a great family Christmas!
I'm sure we all know from experience that it's very rare that the run up to Christmas (and the big day itself) will go off without a hitch, a meltdown or even a disaster so what I wanted to share with you today are my seven super simple rules to make sure you have a great family Christmas even taking into account everything that could go wrong....Christmas Day is a day that we spend weeks, if not months, preparing ourselves and our homes for by the time the day arrives we (meaning me) usually have such high expectations of the perfect Christmas that we (again meaning me) stress out over … [Read more...]
Pet friendly Reindeer Dust for Christmas Eve….
One of our favourite Christmas Eve traditions is sprinkling our homemade pet friendly reindeer dust on the path outside our house just before bedtime. When I look through our Christmas photos over the years, it's so cute to see the kids changing each year as they spread the reindeer dust they've made themselves on the path to make sure that Santa doesn't have trouble finding us. Get a free personalised video message from Santa….
Since the children were younger, one of my favourite moments each Christmas has always been watching their faces light up when I told them that Santa had sent them a video message just for them. They used to sit in front of my laptop and watch as I opened the message that Santa had emailed me for them. They used to watch with wonder in their eyes as Santa lets them know that he's been keeping eye on them all year. They used to gasp with amazement as Santa congratulates them on some of their achievements throughout the year. They even used to look a little sheepish as Santa … [Read more...]

I'm pretty sure I've told you all about Snowman Soup at least a hundred times over the last few years but for the benefit of those of you who have never had the pleasure of hearing about it, I'm going to quickly tell you again. ;-)Basically, it's a fantastic idea for a homemade gift which is also a great treat for you and the kids.
