The Activity Advent – 40 Fun and Frugal things to do at Christmas with the kids….
Last year, over on my Christmas blog, I started my Activity Advent with the aim of doing one Christmas activity a day throughout December. The only problem was actually finding the time to write up what we did so this year, I thought I'd share all the things we have on our list to try. It's a pretty big list so I'm sure that we'll not have chance to do everything on the list but at least we have plenty of choice!Make homemade cinnamon stick tree decorations Make an alternative kind of advent calendar.Make Homemade S'mores and drink them with hot chocolate while watching Christmas … [Read more...]
The budget version of Elf on a Shelf….
I know it's a bit early for Elf on a Shelf but lots of people have started following my Elf on a Shelf Pinterest board over the last week so I figured people might be starting to plan their elf activities a little earlier this year!I love the idea of Elf on a Shelf at Christmas (although last year a few people did get a bit too elf obsessed ;-)) but I absolutely don't love the idea of paying £25+ for a doll that looks more than a little scary and would more than likely give me nightmares and a book that explains what Elf on a Shelf is all about. This is what the original Elf on a Shelf … [Read more...]

Lots of people don't have that … [Read more...]
Christmas family fun on the internet…
A lot of our family Christmas traditions have come from mine or Mr Frugal's childhood and we've carried them on with our own children because of the memories they gave us when we were young. But we've also introduced a lot of our own traditions, some of which are only possible now because of the internet.Christmas is all about family and we all love anything that helps make it that bit more magical - over the years we've found a few sites that we go back to year after year so I thought I'd share our favourite three ones with you:NORAD Tracks Santa We love tracking Santa on Christmas … [Read more...]
Listography – my five favourite Christmas family traditions….
After a bit of a snotty and sneezy start to December (and end to November for that matter), I'm only now starting to feel a little bit of Christmas spirit and I finally feel ready to start enjoying our usual family build up to Christmas which is usually filled with lots of family traditions - both new and old.So, when the lovely Kate from Kate takes 5 offered to loan me Listography for the week, I thought it would be a nice idea to share some of our family traditions with you....Finding the best Christmas lights in the neighbourhood We usually all wrap up warm one evening and go for a … [Read more...]
