I have no idea why I've never tried making apple and banana cake before!I have them both in my fruit basket on a daily basis but I've never thought of putting them together until today. I can tell you one thing though - now I have tried an apple and banana cake, we'll definitely be having it more often because it's delicious. Banana and Apple Cake Squares 225g softened butter 1 egg 3 mashed bananas (mine were on the small side so I needed 3 but I'd say 2 would be OK ususally) 1 apple grated (I dabbed mine with some kitchen roll so it wasn't too wet) 1 capful of Vanilla essence 125g … [Read more...]
Hot dog pizza toast….
I don't know about you but I seem to find myself being added to numerous Facebook groups recently and looking down the list of things I'd been added to the other day, I found a group that I thought I actually might like so instead of deleting it, I clicked on the link to view the group.I'm not going to name the group but the first post I read was a lady who had mentioned that she was feeding her children hot dogs for lunch. Now I know as much as the next person that there is very little nutritional value to a hot dog but the comments that this lady was getting from some people were … [Read more...]
Savoury Muffins – Chilli, cheese and ham muffins….
Sometimes savoury muffins can be just as tasty as sweeter versions so, after last week's super easy muffin recipe, I thought I'd share my famous (in my own mind) chilli, cheese and ham muffins which are not only delicious but also great to freeze for packed lunches and very versatile. They are lovely on their own, with butter, dipped in soup and even cut open with a slice of ham in it as a little sandwich. Chilli, Cheese and Ham Savoury Muffins 250g plain flour 3 teaspoons baking powder 1 teaspoon paprika A pinch of salt 50g butter 1 egg 250ml milk 150g cheese (the cheese with chilli … [Read more...]
My version of a Greggs Cheese and Bacon wrap….

You need: Puff Pastry 2 rashers of bacon per wrap that you plan to make. Grated cheese, depending on how cheesey you want your wrap to be but I use around 30g of cheese per wrap. Beaten egg or milk to brush the pastry with.First of all, you need puff pastry … [Read more...]
Homemade oven baked S’mores….
Before I start, I know that anyone American will probably be horrified that I'm comparing these yummy delights to an actual S'more but in my defence, my children are always asking me if they can try a S'more and this is the closest I've managed. ;-)For those of you who aren't sure exactly what a S'more is, it's a traditional night time campfire treat popular in the USA, consisting of a roasted marshmallow and a layer of chocolate sandwiched between two pieces of graham cracker. As I am sadly lacking a campfire and can't find anything that even slightly resembles what a graham … [Read more...]
Review – Breville Blend Active….
It's very rare that I write a review of something I bought myself but every now and again, I buy something that I love that much that I want to share with you.Today I want to tell you all about my Breville Blend Active blender which I bought from Tesco from £24 about two months ago. You can buy it all over though and there seem to be different model numbers available but as far as I can see the different model numbers refer more to the number of bottles you get with the blender rather than anything different with the blender itself.I wanted a new smoothie maker as the one I had was … [Read more...]
