I've always wondered how to separate an egg without making a mess as I usually end up getting my hands covered in egg when I try to do it and it often takes me more than one attempt to do it right! Not so long ago, someone at work told me what their secret was to separating eggs and at the time I remember that I just nodded my head and smiled whilst thinking to myself that their method would clearly never work. But then last night when we were making sugar mice we needed to separate an egg so I decided to give it a go and to my amazement, it actually worked so I enlisted Miss Frugal's … [Read more...]
Rocky Road fridge cake….
Every now and again, I am required to make cakes for some random reason and naturally, the night that I am required to bake these cakes always seems to fall on a night where we have at least twenty seven other things planned which means my cakes invariably end up being the ones that are left at the end looking lonely on the table with a reduced to 10p sign on them. But this week, I had a revelation after finding two big bars of cooking chocolate at the back of my cupboard.
