Today is a bit of a special Cupcake Sunday because it's a 99p Stores edition ;-)You might remember that I visited my local 99p Stores shop a little while ago and was pleasantly surprised by the wide range of products they stock. I've been a regular since then, usually just popping in before I do my weekly shop to see if they have any bargains but last week, we were sent some vouchers and asked to pop in and buy some baking goodies to celebrate the fact that sales in the home baking section of 99p Stores have doubled in the last three months - no doubt because of the Great British Bake Off … [Read more...]
Cupcake Sunday – Peanut butter brownie cupcakes….
These are my favourite cupcakes so far by a mile - you can tell just by the name of them that they're going to be yummy and I guarantee you won't be disappointed!Peanut Butter Brownie Cupcakes The recipe for the brownie batter I use is here - it's the one I use for brownies all the time but I wouldn't add the chilli if you're using it to make these cupcakes. The only other thing you need is peanut butter.1. Make the brownie batter according to the instructions in the other post.2. Spoon a little of the brownie batter into the bottom of each cake case.3. Add a dollop of … [Read more...]

I'm loving this series of The Great British Bake Off, as are most of you guys judging by the #GBBO chat on Twitter every Tuesday night ;-)Not only can you watch the show on your TV on a Tuesday night and buy the Showstoppers recipe book that goes alongside it (it's brilliant, I have it), you can now also get the Great British Bake Off App which has just been launched. Packed Lunch Moneysaving….
I originally posted this a little while ago and although, I don't usually re-publish old posts I think this one is worth a second look so you can see that children's packed lunches don't have to cost the earth. It's easy to make a filling and healthy packed lunch that your children will enjoy for around half of what you would pay for a school dinner.I'd strongly recommend a good read through the comments as well as there are some fantastic ideas in there. Feel free to add your own too....School Dinners seem to have got very expensive lately don't they?I think they're … [Read more...]
Chocolate Marshmallow Fluff cake….
We have found the most delicious new treat to use in our baking - Marshmallow Fluff. It's basically just spreadable fluffy marshmallow goo but it tastes delicious, and is really versatile - we've used it in cakes, hot chocolate, melted as an ice cream topping, on toast and actually, just eaten off the spoon straight out of the jar. It's really sweet and a little bit really does go a long way.Two tablespoons has 40 calories and no fat which isn't bad considering how sweet it tastes and the jar itself cost us about £1.80 if I remember rightly. On a Sunday night, I usually make … [Read more...]
