1) On Monday I made a Budget leftovers version of a beef wellington which I shared with you here but it's basically a giant puff pastry sausage roll with the sausage being the leftovers of our Sunday Dinner! It was so easy to make and turned some random leftovers into a whole new meal which is the way to go with meal planning!2) I went to Ikea and only spend £18 and that was on things that I actually needed! I bought some tea-towels, some freezer bags and some new freezer bag clips, a new cheese grater and some storage boxes. The damage could have been much worse considering I went … [Read more...]
Five Frugal Things I’m going to do in 2017…
This week's five frugal things post is a little bit different because I wanted to share with you five frugal things that I'm going to be doing in 2017.1) I'm going to be doing my own affordable weekly savings challenge again next year because as much as I love all of the ones you see floating around the internet at this time of year, they're just un-manageable for us and I think by about week 10 we'd be struggling. My version means that you don't save as much over the year but at least it's easy to stick to so you won't end up giving up part way through the year. Do you fancy joining … [Read more...]
Why you NEED to set realistic targets….
Have you made a New Years Resolution this year?If you have, then just have a think about it for a moment - have you set realistic targets for yourself or are your goals going to be a real stretch? Because if your resolution is too difficult and you struggle too much then you're going to get disheartened in no time at all and you'll just give up completely.I'm going to use the savings challenge that's doing the rounds at the moment as an example? You start in week one saving just £1 which is totally achievable but every week you're supposed to save an extra pound, so week two would be … [Read more...]

How to clean your house FAST….
I'm not a fan of housework in any form but I do like to live in a tidy house so over the years I've so many blog posts and watched so many YouTube videos with people sharing their 'How to clean your house fast' tips that I should be an expert.I've tried cleaning schedules, daily routines, and all manner of systems but the only thing that works for me is a weekly focus on just getting the job done. After trying everything, I've come to the conclusion that there aren't any real shortcuts or life hacks that are going to help me if I want a genuinely clean house and I'm not disciplined … [Read more...]
