There’s no place like home….
Last month marked our five year anniversary of living in this house and although I still stalk Right Move at regular intervals during the year, I do love living here and can't see us moving any time soon.It's a new build house that we bought while it was still being built so we got to choose all the fixtures and fittings and once it got to a certain stage of the build, the developers were happy for me to just pop in and wander around while I pretended that I needed to measure something but really just wanted to see the house again, just to imagine what it would be like with us living in … [Read more...]
Secret Santa on a budget – 10 presents for under a fiver….
I love a good Secret Santa with my friends at work but we generally opt for a lower budget because, let's face it, Christmas is expensive enough as it is.We've had a year where we set the budget at £1 per person with the idea being that you had to get the most creative gift that you could for that amount. We got all sorts of gifts from candles to cactus plants dressed up as Santa and it was much more fun than opening the inevitable chocolates, biscuits and alcohol that we would have no doubt seen if we'd had a higher budget.This year, we're going for a slightly higher budget of £5.00 … [Read more...]
Make the most of the free supermarket magazines….
Do you ever pick up a copy of the free magazines that your local supermarkets usually have on display at the checkouts?I never did until recently, mainly because I thought they would just one giant advert full of buy this from here or do this using something you've bought from here or articles about people associated with the shops in question.
