Do you know what the safe storage times for food in your fridge & freezer are?

If anyone asks me the first thing they should do to start saving money, I always without fail tell them that the absolute first thing to start with is to look at their food shopping habits.Meal planning is a must for me but I need to make sure I'm organised in order to do that successfully and make sure that our shopping budget is as low as possible, while still making sure that we eat well.I make sure that I plan our meals for the following week before I go shopping and that I use food that we already have in where possible to keep my shopping bill down. Do you have any idea what a 'dump' recipe is?I didn't until I started researching batch cooking recipes but now, thanks to Pinterest, I can tell you that a dump recipe is a recipe that you put together in a zip-lock bag (or other container) and put in the freezer before cooking.You then get it out the night before you're ready to cook it so it's defrosted in time for when you're ready to cook it and because you've already prepared the ingredients, you don't have to do anything else other then cook it either in the slow cooker or in the oven.
