For the last few months (up until I went on my holidays), I've been following the Slimming World plan (on a budget) and I've lost just over a stone altogether. It would have been a stone and a half but the half went back on while I was on my holidays! In an effort to be frugal I wasn't going to a Slimming world group, I was going it alone using some books that a friend gave to me but it was hard work. There was no one to swap ideas and recipes with, no one to really motivate me and no major reason why I couldn't have a bit of a treat and start again the next day.... Or the next.... Get Organised – the very busy week edition….
We're having one of those weeks this week where we don't have a spare minute but I'm determined to keep on top of the housework and everything else that I need to do so I'm still going to do this week's Get Organised post - even though I cheated a little bit and got Master Frugal to write up the menu plan.TuesdayParents night for Miss Frugal Football for Master Frugal General tidy up ready for tomorrow as I've got some friends coming. round for tea. I need to get myself organised.Everything's been really hectic in the last few months (in a good way) and it's getting harder and harder to keep track of who should be where and when. Family friendly Frugal Meals – Lemon Turkey Pappadelle Pasta….
I haven't posted my meal plan for a few weeks as it's been a bit samey samey lately! In fact, most weeks I could just copy and paste the previous weeks plan and change the days around a bit.I'm not making excuses but I leave for work at 7.20 in the morning, dropping the kids off at breakfast club for 7.30. I then finish work at 2.30 and rush to get them from school and get in about 3.15, so by the time I get home, I just want to cook something easy that I know everyone will enjoy which is why I stick to the same meals. But, I'm not only bored with cooking the same meals now, I suspect … [Read more...]
Family Friendly Frugal Meals – Bargain week….
It's been a few weeks since I've actually sat and typed up our weekly menu but I have been sticking to my meal planning (mostly) and using my meal planning wall planner ;-)We're on countdown to our holidays (6 weeks to go) so I'm going to be extra frugal this week and try and have another 'shopping from our cupboards' week which is even easier than usual thanks to the brilliant bargains I've got from the reduced section in our supermarket lately! In one shopping trip, I got two packs of chicken fillets for 60p each, 2 haddock fillets for 30p, 2 river cobbler fillets for 30p and some … [Read more...]
