I drive a 25 mile round trip every day to work which I know isn't much compared to a lot of people's commute but to us, it means that petrol makes up a big part of our monthly budget. But it is possible to change your driving habits a little to make the best use of your fuel so you can get the most out of it.Keep your tyres inflated to the correct pressure. As well as making your car more fuel efficient, it's also safer for you and your passengers. Don't use your air conditioning unless you have to - just wind a window down. Turn your engine off as soon as you reach your … [Read more...]
Thrifty Thursday – Five frugal things I’ve done this week….
It's been a bit of a busy week here this week but I've still had time to save some money - I even managed to make a bit of extra money as well....I'm not sure if it's a new thing or not but my latest energy bill has a section on that tells me what I would be paying on each of my suppliers tariffs. I noticed it when I got my bill earlier in the week as it said that there was a new online tariff that would save me some money so I rang them and changed over. I do review my energy suppliers every six months or so to make sure I'm on a good deal but I was really pleased that my … [Read more...]
Three apps that give you free calls and texts on your mobile phone….
For those of you who have a Smartphone but don't have unlimited free texts or calls there's some great apps around that allow you to get free calls or free texts to other users who also have the app downloaded. The one I use at the moment is called Viber which looks to be available to the majority of phone types. Eating veggie for a week….
This is a bit of a back to front meal plan because I'm going to tell you what we ate last week instead of what we'll be eating this week.....Seeing as last week was National Vegetarian Week we decided to have a (mostly) veggie week which was great for me because it gave me a bit of an excuse to cook a few different things as I'm a bit stuck in a rut with our meals at the moment. I've got back into the habit of cooking the same old meals which is not only boring but it also makes me feel a bit bleugh about cooking so I'm more tempted to not stick to the week's plan. The veggie meals … [Read more...]
