Every week I share five frugal things that I've done during that week just to show you that the small things you do all add up to a great frugal lifestyle where you can learn to live a fabulously frugal life. Before I start though, I do want to say that being frugal to me is about getting the best value for our money - it's not about doing without for us or about not having nice things. We all have different financial situations and we're all frugal for different reasons - we're frugal so we can afford to do nice things together.1) You might have seen this post from earlier this … [Read more...]
Five Frugal Things I did in San Fransisco this week….
Every week I share five frugal things that I've done during that week just to show you that the small things you do all add up to a great frugal lifestyle where you can learn to live a fabulously frugal life.Last Sunday I was lucky enough to travel to San Fransisco for a short break and as this post goes live, I'm currently in the air somewhere over the ocean (all being well) flying home. I wrote this in the Airport as I got there ridiculously early thanks to a mixture of my fear of missing the flight, my excitement to be coming home to see the kids and my exhaustion from trying to … [Read more...]

How to organise a funeral and why I’m buying a pre-paid funeral plan….
This is a bit of a depressing post today but one that I personally could have done with reading when I had to organise my Dad's funeral recently. I searched for 'how to organise a funeral' but all of the things that came up first were funeral directors selling their services which is all good but didn't help me at the time so I thought I'd share my experience. So, last month I had to arrange my Dad's funeral - something he'd tried to talk to me about in the past but stupidly I always said to him that we had plenty of time to talk about things like that so we never really discussed it … [Read more...]
