1) Miss Frugal is going out for afternoon tea with her friends at the end of the month and they've all been talking about what they're going to wear for weeks. I promised Miss Frugal a new dress as she doesn't really have any nice dresses that fit her anymore after a little growth spurt over the Summer - she'd quite happily wear all of her favourites as they do fit her but they're a lot shorter than they used to be so I thought a new dress was definitely in order. She went shopping with her friends and couldn't find anything she liked for under £25 which was the budget I gave her so when … [Read more...]
Five Fabulously Frugal Things I’ve done this week {18th November 2016}….
1) I've finally mastered the art of remembering to take my own bags to the shop with me! I know, it's not exactly difficult but I can't tell you the amount of times that I've forgotten and ended up either buying a bag or struggling to the car with a handful of things. I think I've managed three weeks of remembering now so I thought I'd share it with you today. I will say that the thing that finally did it for me was buying one of those fold into itself shopper bags which I keep in my handbag now. As soon as I unpack it, I fold it up and put it back in there so I always have it with me.2) … [Read more...]
Five Fabulously Frugal Things I’ve done this week {11th November 2016}….
1) I've started using my student card more often over the last week or so and this week I finally got around to downloading the app on my phone so I could see exactly where I could be using it to save money. You'd be surprised how many place there are where you can get discount so I'm trying to make the most of the card by using it wherever I can.My Card cost £12 for a year and I got it through a course I'm doing at work but you don't have to be an actual student to get one as you qualify with lots of online courses. I actually helped my friend set herself one up this week and it cost £5 … [Read more...]

1) This first one is a total cheat as I did it ages ago but I never told you so I'm going to tell you about it today. When I found out I was going to need an operation I bought a three months pre-paid prescription certificate because I had a good few weeks to wait to see the specialist, then there was the wait for the operation itself and then the recovery period. After speaking to the Doctor, I knew there was a good chance I would need a few different prescriptions so I went for it and splashed out just short of £30 for three months. In that time, I think I've had 7 or 8 different tablets … [Read more...]

Five Fabulously Frugal Things I’ve done this week {28th October 2016}….
I'm so sorry if you've already seen this post or if you left a comment last week but the whole post got eaten by my blog over the weekend so I've had to redo it. Hope that's OK, Cass x x 1) This one is going to make us sound a bit greedy but we like our food here so don’t judge. Along with my usual batch cooked meals I often have ready made pies in the freezer for a quick and easy meal when I don’t have time (or energy) to cook. I used to serve two pies each (not for the kids obviously) because that’s what my Dad used to serve when we had pies when I was growing up and I just did it … [Read more...]
