Summer can be an expensive time, but it doesn't have to be!There's lots of ways to save money on days out this Summer, it just means being a bit organised and planning ahead a little more than you might usually.... Find cheap or free days out in your area:Check your local museums websites to see what they have going on as they usually have some great activities on throughout the Summer that cost next to nothing. You could also see what's going on at your local library although my two are too old for that now apparently. Ask on Facebook if anyone on your friends list knows of … [Read more...]
Five Fabulously Frugal Things I’ve done this week {22nd July 2016}….
1) The kids broke up for school this week and I haven't felt the need to fill the days with trips out or activities that I think they'll enjoy. Instead we've spent absolutely no money and had a chilled out start to the holidays with a couple of evening trips to the beach, an afternoon fruit picking and a picnic at Richmond Castle thanks to our English Heritage membership.2) Talking of fruit picking, I made some delicious strawberry muffins with the leftover strawberries which I shared with you all yesterday. She pointed out that as the box was on special offer that I would get more for my money if I bought the box which was more sweets for the same amount of money.2) I bought a new pack of microfibre cloths from Tesco this week - 4 for a £1 which I think is a … [Read more...]
