1) One of the things I wanted to do this year was take care of myself a little bit better and start making time for me and I'm really trying to stick to that. I'm really pleased with my progress at Slimming World and I'm feeling quote good about myself at the moment even though I've got a LONG way to go.As part of my new 'me' regime I bought myself some new nail varnishes and a new lipgloss from our local Pounstretchers - not bad for a pound each!2) If you pay your council tax over 10 months then this month and next are no council tax months (or at least they are for us). In the … [Read more...]
More ways to get free and super cheap games for your Xbox….
Remember when I told you that Xbox gave you free games every single month if you have an Xbox one or an Xbox 360?Well I've found another way although this does cost you a few pounds each month - it's called EA access! We first found out about EA access when Master Frugal was desperate to get his hands on Fifa 16 before it was released and someone told us that if you had an EA access subscription then you could download a trial version and play 10 hours of game play a week before the game itself was released. We found a code so you could get the first month for £1.79 which didn't … [Read more...]
Why I never used to check my bank statement (and 5 reasons why you should)….
I'm going to be perfectly honest here and tell you that in the past I've dreaded the moment that my bank statement hits the doormat. There have been times when I've picked it up and put it on the sideboard trying to decide whether to open it or not because I knew it was going to tell me that we had no money or that one Direct Debit or other had been returned unpaid. More often than not, I ended up just hiding it in a drawer and not opening it at all because in my head, if I didn't see it written down then it wasn't as bad as I thought. Silly, I know. This was a long time ago thankfully … [Read more...]
Five Frugal things I’ve done this week {29th January 2016}….
1) Last weekend I took Miss Frugal clothes shopping for our holidays and got some great deals on Summer clothes in New Look. She was over the moon when she came out with two pairs of shorts, a pair of flip flops for the beach, two pairs of sunglasses and a pretty top for £11! The shorts had been reduced from £14 to £2 a pair and the sunglasses were reduced from about £7 to 5op which made them huge bargains and just shows that buying clothes out of season can save you a fortune.2) Miss Frugal was given a lovely bag this week from a friend of a friend who no longer wanted it but … [Read more...]

Five Frugal things I’ve done this week {22 January 2016}….
1) I'm not sure that this really counts as being thrifty or frugal but I managed to make it through to January pay day without completely running out of money! Getting paid early in December added together with Christmas and paying the deposit on a holiday has meant that it really has been a tight month though so I'm proud that we managed it.2) You might have seen my post earlier in the week where I've started running in an attempt to get fit. I downloaded the free couch to 5k app and am following that at the moment rather than joining a gym and paying out each month. I'm certainly not … [Read more...]
