I bet you read that title and thought to yourself that your child would never do such a thing. Me too!I know that neither of my two would ever intentionally buy something without me knowing, especially using my money but unfortunately it's just not as simple as that these days and you see horror stories in the news where a child has unintentionally managed to spend a small fortune without their parents knowing. In fact, I'm pretty sure most of those parents would have said that their children would never be able to do that too - until they were hit with the bill!Preventing … [Read more...]

Teaching children about Money – Chores….
Welcome to this week’s teaching children about money post which is all about paying children for doing jobs around the house.Personally I believe that children are a part of the family and should therefore be helping around the house doing some basic chores. Pocket money isn't given to them for doing their designated jobs but it is taken away if they don't do the jobs that we give them!We have a chore chart on the front of the fridge which includes some basic jobs like setting the table, clearing the table, tidying rooms etc and on Saturday and those are the jobs that we expect to be … [Read more...]

In fact, every time I open my phone or iPad lately there's a whole new batch of selfies waiting to make me smile!2. They wouldn't dream … [Read more...]
My week in Instagram – 18 January 2014….
Another quiet week here this week although we've made sure that we've been out for a walk/scoot/bike ride every day to get some fresh air before getting changed in to our pyjamas and snuggling in at home. This time of year isn't great for getting out and about doing things but we're trying - it's difficult though when you just want to come home, shut the curtains and block out the cold dark night isn't it? … [Read more...]
