This week, we've been applying for the kids' NUS cards which is now called TOTUM membership. It was pretty easy to do so I thought I'd share how to get an NUS card if your children are at college or uni age like my two are now. When Miss Frugal first started college, the first thing she did was get her NUS card so she could start to benefit from all the discounts that are available and over the last couple of years, she's probably saved a fortune. Shops like New Look and Topshop were here favourite places to shop so the 10% off that they gave her was super welcome. The NUS card has … [Read more...]
Thrifty Avocado and Banana Hair Mask….
I'm sure I've mentioned this before but Miss Frugal is a Pinterest and YouTube fiend! She loves to find DIY ideas for us to try out at home and although some of them turn out to be total fails, some turn out really well and we end up doing them again. This thrifty avocado and banana hair mask started out as one of her Pinterest finds and is now something we make regularly although we only ever make it with avocados that we find reduced as it wouldn't be too thrifty if we used a full price avocado! We also try and use the most battered looking banana in the fruit bowl too although I admit … [Read more...]

Six reasons to shop at a Farmers Market….
My favourite Sunday morning Farmers Market is back so it feels like a good time to share a few reasons why I think you should try and shop at a Farmers Market at least once to try it!Our local Farmer's Market has been cancelled for the last year or so with everything that's been going on but this week, I saw an announcement on Facebook that they were starting up again from this weekend so seeing as I was up earlyI completely get that a Farmers Market is not somewhere that you're going to get 'cheap' products and there won't be anything that can compete with the 'value' or 'own … [Read more...]
Sunday Summary {11th July 2021}….
I realised a while ago that I really missed the personal side of blogging, the posts where I literally just used to sit down and tell you what we've been up to so (and I have no idea if this is going to work) I thought we'd try something new. 😂.I thought I'd sit down on a Sunday morning and have a bit of a catch up - what's happened that week, anything exciting coming up and maybe even a quick round-up of blog posts from my other blogs. I have no idea if I have an interesting enough life to make every week worth reading but let's see, shall we?If you saw my last … [Read more...]
