1. Answering random questions Both my children are very curious about the world around them and they ask a lot of quite random questions about some very random things that I often don't have a clue how to answer. For example, last night Master Frugal asked us how fast a cheetah could run. Rather than saying 'fast' as I was tempted to do seeing as I was watching Dancing on Ice, I typed 'how fast can a cheetah run in to the Youtube search box. There were lots of results but I had a quick look down the list and saw that one video was called 'San Diego Zoo Kids' and was a video about … [Read more...]

Today is the 25th Anniversary of Comic Relief.I can't even begin to guess how much good they've done in the last 25 years - how many lives they've changed for the better and how many children they've made smile. To celebrate the anniversary, Comic Relief are celebrating the progress of Africa and the difference that the money they've raised has made to people. #Teamhonk, made up of Annie from Mammasaurus, Tanya from Mummy Barrow and Penny from Alexander Residence are visiting four projects in Ghana on the 4th and the 5th February to see for themselves the difference Red Nose Day money … [Read more...]
Our week in pictures – week 5….
Another fun but busy week here....Dilemma in the Stationery aisle - they each had £1 each to spend and they both spent what seems like forever choosing what they wanted. We ended up with a lovely notebook for Miss Frugal and a dog pencil sharpener for Master Frugal (don't even ask where you have to stick the pencil to sharpen it). Trampoline bouncing is even more fun in the cold apparently! Mint choc chip cupcakes are just Mmmmmmmmm Shopping break. Because it's really hard following your brother around ToysRus choosing what to spend his pocket money on. Especially when you … [Read more...]
Our week in pictures (and a few words) – week 4….
I can't believe another week's gone by already! I know I've said before that Miss Frugal is really individual when it comes to her dress sense but this week she came up with one of her worst creations so far - pink tartan effect high tops with black leggings and a leopard print River Island dress. I tried to suggest some plain shoes but she was having none of it. I love that Master Frugal is at the age where he likes to do a bit of housework although I'm pretty sure it's not going to last much longer! Ring of fire - the best and funniest drinking game ever. The rules are here if … [Read more...]
Living with Abdominal Migraines….
If you've been around for a while, you might remember the roller coaster journey we had with Miss Frugal a year or two ago. She started to suffer with very short dizzy spells and the occasional headache and sickness. We were referred to a specialist who ruled out just about everything it could possibly be and ultimately, we were told that it could be a slow growing tumour. We had the scariest few months ever while we waited to find out with MRI scans, ECG's, blood tests and poor Miss Frugal being prodded and poked with more visits to a hospital than a child should have to go through. In … [Read more...]
Cool Kid’s bedrooms….
Apparently I'm an awesome mum.Now obviously, I've known this for some time but in the last week, I've been told by at least four different people that I'm a great mum so I'm making the title official now - I may even make myself a laminated certificate to put on the fridge door. The reason for all the extra praise I've had this week? It's because I posted a couple of photos on my Facebook account of the kid's bedrooms when we were having a chill out afternoon. When we moved house, my priority was to get the kids bedrooms done first so they had somewhere comfortable to relax on their … [Read more...]
