Another fun but busy week here....Dilemma in the Stationery aisle - they each had £1 each to spend and they both spent what seems like forever choosing what they wanted.  We ended up with a lovely notebook for Miss Frugal and a dog pencil sharpener for Master Frugal (don't even ask where you have to stick the pencil to sharpen it). I can't believe another week's gone by already! I know I've said before that Miss Frugal is really individual when it comes to her dress sense but this week she came up with one of her worst creations so far - pink tartan effect high tops with black leggings and a leopard print River Island dress.  I tried to suggest some plain shoes but she was having none of it. If you've been around for a while, you might remember the roller coaster journey we had with Miss Frugal a year or two ago.  She started to suffer with very short dizzy spells and the occasional headache and sickness.  We were referred to a specialist who ruled out just about everything it could possibly be and ultimately, we were told that it could be a slow growing tumour.  We had the scariest few months ever while we waited to find out with MRI scans, ECG's, blood tests and poor Miss Frugal being prodded and poked with more visits to a hospital than a child should have to go through.In … [Read more...]

Today my husband annoyed me.  A lot.It wasn't about anything serious - he just wouldn't take Master Frugal for his hair cut without me.  Master Frugal had a specific style in mind and apparently I'm better at explaining things to people so I needed to be the one to explain the style  to the hairdresser!  I had other things to do but ended up going with them and sitting around for nearly an hour while a little old man barber tried his best (and for the record, failed) to replicate a Justin Bieber style haircut on Master Frugal!I sulked with him the whole time we were in … [Read more...]

A few weeks ago I was woken in the middle of the night by Miss Frugal practically jumping on me in floods of tears.  She was crying so hard that she could hardly breathe let alone speak.Once I'd been able to make sure that she wasn't hurting or in pain, I hugged her until she managed to calm herself down enough to talk to me and when she did, she told me that she'd had a nightmare.  A nightmare that she couldn't talk about without starting to cry again other than to say that we all died in it.I calmed her down, told her it was just a nightmare and reassured her that we were all OK … [Read more...]
