Today we made matching aprons for baby Isabella and her mummy, Miss Frugal.I should explain that Isabella is the doll that Miss Frugal got for Christmas, she crawls, walks, cries and even has temper tantrums. Apparently she needs an apron for when they are cooking together in Miss Frugal's bedroom! Now I am not talented or in any way good at sewing and some of you may well cringe at the basicness of this but all I did was cut out a rectangle and make the bottom corners look a bit rounded. Then I cut out two long ties and pinned them the top corners of the rectangle. It took Miss Frugal a good … [Read more...]
Another Visit to A&E
WARNING - LOOK AWAY NOW IF YOU DON'T LIKE FEETMr Frugal has only gone and sprained his ankle, how selfish is that? Does he not know that I had plans for this weekend that involved all four of us being able to walk!He came home from playing five-a-side football in agony and decided that we should go to the local A&E; who said that it might be fractured but as it was after 5pm there were no X-Ray facilities so we could either go back the next morning or go to the bigger A&E; 10 miles down the road for an X-Ray.By this point it was 8pm and he was due at work for the night shift at 11.30 so we … [Read more...]

Mortified….
I am so embarassed, I have just been to Asda with Master Frugal and he has just shouted at the top of his voice across the shop'Mam, will you hold my nuts while I have a wee?'I must just explain at this point that I had given his some pistachio nuts in the car and he didn't want to take them in to the toilet.... however, the shop full of people sniggering at me didn't know that, did they? One for the memory books I think. … [Read more...]
The Worlds Fussiest Eater….
Do I have the fussiest four year old in the world? I think so....He is such a fussy eater and has to be coaxed to eat anything different, which is why I tend to stick to the same meals on my meal plans. When I find something he likes, I stick with it until we all get sick of it.It's only in the last six months or so that he has started to be even slightly more adventurous. The Christmas before last he would only eat plain pasta (still his favourite food). He doesn't eat fish or meat, apart from sausages, and his dinner is usually ours minus any fish, meat or sauces. We try all sorts of things … [Read more...]
Meal Planning – the Slimming World Way
This week's meal plan is going to be be a bit of a nightmare. I have to plan for a fussy eating 4 year old, a can't cook, won't cook other half and on top of that, I need to make sure that it's Slimming World friendly!I think until I have got the hang of being back on Slimming World I'm going to eat simple things that I'm familiar with rather than try anything elaborate or time consuming, more for the fact that I will be cooking separate meals for me initially. Once I've got my head round it I will introduce it more to the rest of the family and gradually try to adapt our family favourites to … [Read more...]
