Today I'm going to share with you 10 books with the power to change your life!If you follow me on Instagram, you might have seen my post from the airport on the day I was travelling to San Fransisco. My flight was a few hours delayed which is the only excuse I have for succumbing to the temptation of WHSmiths.I felt like going to San Fransisco was a little bit about finding myself again after a rough year so I justified my purchases to myself because I chose some pretty deep books and magazines to read during my time alone on the other side of the world.Until recently I … [Read more...]
Homemade Bath Jelly….
Remember my homemade pink prosecco gummy bear jelly sweets? They taught me a valuable lesson in life - that you can add gelatin (or vege-gel) to pretty much everything and you'll end up with a jelly. Sooooo, I thought we could investigate making some homemade bath jelly and the results were fab!Homemade Bath Jelly is my new favourite thing - the possibilities are endless as you make it using your own favourite body wash. It's also an excellent excuse to use up all that shower gel and body wash that you're probably accumulating in the cupboard under your sink.I made one using a … [Read more...]
A bored jar for teenagers….
Over the years, we've had various different bored jars that have kept the kids occupied during the long Summer Holidays but this year, I'm very aware that, at 13 and 15, the kids are too old for the bored jars we've made and used so much in the past. My favourite things to do this have without question been our bored jars and we've had a few over … [Read more...]

How to Help Teenagers Cope with Grief….
One of the hardest things to cope with when my Dad died was dealing with other people's grief. The kids especially were difficult to deal with so now that we're over the worst of it, I thought I'd share a few ways that I found to help teenagers cope with grief. When my Dad died, the hospital gave us some books about how to help the kids cope with their grief but when we got them home, they were really aimed at much younger children and really weren't suitable for teenagers cope with grief. We got home from the hospital about 4 am and the kids were obviously sound asleep by that … [Read more...]
June Intentions….
June is a hugely busy month for me so I'm taking a few minutes today to write down the things I want to achieve because I have a feeling if I don't have something down in writing, I'll be sat here in a month's time having achieved nothing I needed to do!Financial IntentionsAs we're finally debt free, I want to be good and start overpaying our mortgage by as much as we can. I've got a standing order set up for payday to overpay every month but I also plan to pay any extra money in when I can - something that I'm imagining won't happen this month thanks to our busy month. We're … [Read more...]
